Insight Communications is the largest channel partner for HP’s wide-format division and Media Infotech was HP channel partner for Mumbai. According to company sources, both the companies felt the need to combine strengths and merge the operations of both the entities to make one bigger, stronger entity.
With the merger, Insight Communications will sell HP graphic art equipment in Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in North, Gujarat and Maharashtra in West and Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu in South.
Media Infotech is known for its pioneering work in establishing Apple Computers, HP Indigo digital presses, HP Designjet large format printers in the western region and is currently offering HP sign and display printing solutions in Maharashtra.
Sunil Thakeria of Media Infotech joins Insight as associate director and will be responsible for strengthening the HP business in Western Region. He will also handle some more portfolios after the integration is complete. “This move made a lot of sense as more resources and a larger product portfolio will delight our customers with solutions and services for varied applications,” Thakeria said.
Ajay Aggarwal, MD and CEO, Insight, said, “We, at Insight, believe in consolidating and growing with like-minded people. Sunil has been known to us for 25 years now. I am sure Sunil and his team will bring in lots of experience and value onboard.”
