Megabound, which manufactures hard-case solutions for bookbinding and rigid box-making solutions, has been serving the Indian market for the last couple of decades. Now, the company is expanding its client base in overseas markets too.
N Srinivasa Reddy, director-marketing, Megabound, said, “This year, we marked our significant participation as an exhibitor at Drupa for the first time. In the earlier editions of the show, we just attended to distribute our product catalogues and a bit of the company’s promotion. But this year, we had a booth in Hall 14 where we showcased eight of our key bookbinding and rigid box-making machines.”
He added, “At the end of the show, we confirmed the sales of more than 50 units of our machines worth around Rs six-crore to buyers from Europe, Africa, America, Middle-East and Asia. When I say Asia, it includes a couple of orders placed by two eminent companies from India. It was exciting to see around 300 trade visitors from India rush to our booth during the show.”
The other countries include Greece, Morocco, Romania, Turkey, the West Indies, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and Algeria, among others.
“We are excited about our global expansion. The penetration into the European market is certainly a big achievement for us. It means our machines have met stringent European standards in terms of designs and operations,” Reddy said.
Towards this, Megabound earned a series of certifications in safety protocols and product designs as per the EU regulations. “These standardisations ensure that our products and technologies strictly follow the European ergonomic and aesthetic preferences, in addition to Indian norms,” he said.
The machines that caught the attention of international buyers include the automatic board-to-board pasting machine; the rigid box V-grooving machine; the rotary board cutter; semi-automatic case maker (CB-310); the automatic case maker active dual; the automatic book and paper pasting machine and the automatic top glueing conveyer, among others.
“Manufacturing our machines according to the European standards will eventually position us, our products and India as a country to gain a broader global recognition,” Reddy concluded, adding, “We are eager for Drupa 2028, where Megabound will unpack more machines and marvels.”
