Mehtas of Vakils to receive MMS’ lifetime honour

The father-son duo of Arun Mehta and Bimal Mehta will be felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Mumbai Mudrak Sangh (MMS) at its annual Printers’ Day celebrations on 7 April 2016.

Arun Mehta is a pedigree printer and a renowned greeting card specialist. With over 55 years of experience in printing and publishing industry, Mehta has a keen eye for colour and print detail. He has hailed several top positions at the Bombay Master Printers' Association and All India Federation of Master Printers. In addition, he was the chairman of Development Council for the Printing Industry in India from 1983 to 87 and chairman of Survey of the Printing Industry in India, 1990.
 
Taking forward the legacy of Vakils, Bimal Mehta, who holds a masters' degree from Boston University, has transformed the traditional print firm into a new age business. Vakils Premedia, a subsidiary of Vakil & Sons, commands expertise in pre-media and communication services with best-in-class IT infrastructure and modern encryption technologies. Bimal has over 17 years of industry experience. He has also co-promoted Softype, a document management company and is the vice president of Bombay Masters Printers Association.
 
MMS president, Tushar Dhote, said, “The two gentlemen have been the industry outliers and have mastered the skill of moving with times. Their vision and business acumen have led the family business to achieve extraordinary heights. They are the most deserving recipients of MMS’ Lifetime Achievement Award.” 
 
The highlight of the event is the keynote presentation by Tata Starbucks Coffee, CEO, Avni Saglani Davda. At 34, she is one of the youngest leaders in the Tata Group.
