This year's Functional Printing China will comprise a series of presentations from around eight speakers, including PolyIC chief executive Wolfgang Mildner, NovaCentrix vice president Stan Farmsworth and Heidelberg’s Martin Schmitt-Lewen, as well as some prominent Chinese speakers.
Presentations at the event, for which there are 200 tickets available at €200 (approximately Rs 14,300) each, will be translated for Chinese and English speaking delegates.
Hans Werner Reinhard, deputy managing director of Messe Dusseldorf and chairman of its subsidiary Messe Dusseldorf China, said, “This is an opportunity for the marketplace in China. We want to grow it step-by-step, it’s not about having 200 exhibitors within two years, and this is a niche platform that we want to grow.”
With one eye on Drupa 2016, Reinhard added: "Functional printing is the umbrella term for the event and we highlight the topic of printed electronics within that because they have a growing impact throughout the value chain, China will be a market where a lot of these end products will be produced and they will need the machinery to do that so this is a perfect platform. By Drupa 2016 we will have grown this functional printing area and we will see that reflected at the next event."
Messe Dusseldorf, at an event held at The Trident BKC, Mumbai gave a preview to their upcoming event in Dusseldorf, K 2013, which caters to the plastic and rubber manufacturing sector, the preview presentations was attended by more than 100 dignitaries from the plastic and rubber manufacturing industry in India. Eva Rugenstein, director, press department, Messe Dusseldorf said, "The main attraction at K 2013 will be printed and reinforced plastics, many new technologies will be on display between 18-23 October" she added " Indian visitors contingent was second only to their German counterparts at the previous K in 2010 and we hope to see more Indian participation this time."
Plastic and rubber industry is an important allied industry to printing, and development in this space can affect print manufacturers and printers.
