Michelman sets up office in Mumbai

The Indian operations will be led by Manoj Deorukhkar, Michelman’s country manager in India. According to a company press release, "the staff will be responsible for serving existing Michelman customers, and developing new opportunities in the region."

According to Steven Shifman, the president and CEO at Michelman, “We have seen significant growth in this key market, especially in flexible packaging applications; water based additives for inks and overprint varnishes; as well as automotive, industrial and coil coatings.” He went on to add, “The addition of Indian-based offices gives us a stronger presence in the country, and allows us to help our customers and prospective customers develop their own stronger product portfolios so they can compete in an increasingly competitive landscape.”

Besides water-based barrier and functional coatings for flexible film packaging, paperboard, and corrugated cartons; Michelman manufactures water-based surface modifiers, additives and polymers for numerous industries including wood care, industrial coatings, inks, fibres, composites, and construction products. 

Michelman serves its multinational and regional customers with production facilities in the USA, Europe and Singapore, and a worldwide network of highly trained field technical support personnel.
