Mitrajit Bhattacharya of Chitralekha is president of magazine association

The Association of Indian Magazine (AIM) has elected Mitrajit Bhattacharya, president and publisher of the Chitralekha Group, as the president for 2014-15.

Bhattacharya, who was the vice president of the association, takes over from Tarun Rai, CEO at Worldwide Media (WWM).

The other elected office bearers include: R Rajmohan, publisher, Open Media Network as the vice president; B Srinivasan, MD, Vasan Publications as the general secretary; and Pradeep Gupta, chairman and MD, CyberMedia, as the treasurer.

The two-day IMC was held in the Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on 24-25 February. The speakers lined up for the event included Anant Nath, editor, Caravan, Delhi Press; Aroon Purie, editor-in-chief and chairman, The India Today Group; Chris Llewellyn, president and chief executive officer, FIPP; Maheshwer Peri, chairman, Pathfinder Publishing; Manish Tewari, minister, Information and Broadcasting, government of India; and Tarun Rai, CEO, WWM.
