MIT’s day out at Esko

In the day-long interaction, Esko team-led by Samarth Chandrashekar, business development manager (Software) took the visitors through the various aspects that Esko the leaders in their segment.

“We were pleasantly surprised to hear about Esko’s growth story and the fact that they are continuously raising the standard. Their acquisition strategy is in fact very impressive with three companies acquired in the last five years, said Dr Amrutharaj H Krishnan, HOD of printing department, MIT.

The pre-press leader’s product line was elaborated in detail by Chandrashekar. The products of the company highlighted were packaging management, ArtiosCAD studio, ArtPro, ArtPro+, PackEdge, DeskPack, Dynamic Content, Plato, Imaging Engine, Automation Engine, Color Engine, Equinox. CDI Crystal, XPS Crystal, CDI Crystal XPS, CDI Spark, Digital Flexo Suite, CDI Consumables, Automation Engine, Color Engine. The company’s digital finishing line of equipment Kongsberg cutting tables, Kongsberg Automate, i-cut production console, i-cut suite, Kongsberg Bits & Blades along with their software suite.

“We are thankful to the management of Esko for giving us some software licenses free of cost for the benefit of the student community. This meeting lasted almost for an hour or so, and we understood that Esko is one of the top class and leading pre-press products manufacturer and integrated packaging solution provider in the industry,” said Amrutharaj.

MIT representatives also held a discussion with Maheshwaran Krishnan, engineering manager and Balaji Rengarajan, senior quality engineer about ways to improve the readiness of students when they step into the industry.

“The overwhelming conclusion was to increase the number of practical sessions is required to complement the theoretical base of our students. It could be through internships, projects, campus training as well as off-campus training during the inter-semester and end semester vacations,” explained Amrutharaj.

A tour of the Esko campus including its global resource centre was also done with the team made to understand the workings of the organisation across departments.

“We were thrilled to see more than a dozen of our alumni part of Esko’s setup,” concluded Amrutharaj.
