Mold-Tek Packaging partnered with Durst Group, one of the global leaders in industrial printing solutions, and its Indian partner, Newgen Printronics, which is a printing and converting solutions provider for flexo and offset industry.
The Durst investment for Mold-Tek helped to implement just-in-time/print-on-demand ability for short and medium runs, and enabled variable data printing. Also, the process witnessed reduction in waste and energy, thereby an economic way to increase uptime.
The RSCi 510-mm is equipped with priming and varnishing stations. The first flexo unit was outfitted with UV and hot air dryers, offering flexibility in coatings tailored to the end application.
This installation signifies a leap for Mold-Tek, which is primarily a rigid plastic packaging player, with the integration of advanced digital printing solutions from Durst Group. The Group, with partner Newgen Printronics, has helped Mold-Tek navigate the technical intricacies of in-mould labelling posed challenges in material handling, tension control, drying and curing parameters, structural resistance, and static load throughout the production process.
An ISO 9001:2015 certified-Mold-Tek follows systematic online quality control, clean rooms at manufacturing & packaging facilities and GMP practices. It employs a complete backward integration, encompassing its own moulds and dies, robots, design studio, and in-mould labels (IML) utilising both analog and digital printing.
Since its inception in 1986, Mold-Tek has grown to approximately 25% market share. The company has over 2,000 employees, 10 production facilities, and a fleet comprising over 150 injection machines. Specialising in the production of injection-moulded containers for diverse applications, Mold-Tek is renowned for its innovative solutions in paint and lube pails.
Mold-Tek is also supported by esteemed partners such as Schober Technologies, Actega, Michelman, and Jindal-Treofan.
