Jimit Mittal of Monotech Systems, said, “It took us around 18 months to develop the inkjet printing press. Our target customers include book printers, commercial, as well as transactional printers. Dimensions are many for this printing press and gradually all will be explored.”

The newly launched press can print on paper and other medias from 40 to 120gsm at the maximum speed of 150mpm. The web width of media ranges from 9 to 26 inches.

Monotech uses water-based inkjet printing inks and the machine produces a resolution of 600x600 dpi. “There is no fix parameter for this press. The machine is completely customised. We are capable enough to develop a production engine as per customer demand,” said Mittal.

Monotech uses printing heads from three vendors, Konica Minolta, Ricoh and Kyocera, and again, the usage of printheads depends on customer demand.

Right now, the machine is roll–to-roll. Soon, the company will launch a roll-to-sheeter version as well.
