The two new digital production presses – Ricoh Pro C9500 and Ricoh Pro C7500 – seek to replace the existing models, Ricoh Pro C9200 and Ricoh Pro C7200.

Tej Prakash Jain, managing director, Monotech Systems, said, “Change is constant. With Ricoh, ours is a partnership of innovation. Our current association with Ricoh started in March 2021, and since then we have installed more than 350 Ricoh digital printing presses. Of these, 75 are special colour digital production engines. Ricoh has become the preferred choice in digital presses, particularly for specialized and complex digital printing applications across commercial, photo, packaging, label, books and security printing segments in the Indian market.”

He said Ricoh’s new production engine – Ricoh Pro C9500 is a workhorse for long-run jobs and has the potential to bring digital printing closer to offset printing. Ricoh Pro C7500 is a multi-colour production engine with an extended colour gamut of 11 colours. It can produce vivid and special colours with the 5th colour as process colour which shall make it the perfect choice for commercial, photo and packaging markets. As an industry first, both the models are field upgradable for speed and 7500 can be field upgraded from four colours to five colours. The number of installations shows the strength of the Ricoh products.”

Koji Miyao, president, Ricoh graphic communications BU corporate officer, Ricoh, said, “This is my second visit to India after thirty years. Indian people are positive for business and are committed too. We work on the philosophy of loving your neighbour, loving your country and loving your work.

He added, “Both newly launched printing presses enable a printer to offer bigger colour gamut; from 40- to 470-gsm substrates printing, more than banner size printing and printing capability on most of the available substrates in the market. These machines open endless opportunities for a printer.”

He added, “ESG – environment, social and corporate governance are important aspects for Ricoh.

He also informed the audience that the Ricoh B2 digital inkjet printing press will be launched at Drupa next year.

MN Pandey, director, Avantika Printers, said, “Digital printing is the need of the hour. We are using three Ricoh printing presses. Monotech Systems has fantastic after-sales service support. Our printing press broke down in December 2021 and it was not possible to repair it. So, we planned for a new machine but the machine was supposed to be delivered in March 2022. Monotech Systems gave its demo machine to us to continue production. We did the job and replaced it with a new machine after some time. Monotech Systems has such kind of support for its customers.”

He added, “Sustainability is the buzzword and it is not possible without quality standards. As per our experience with the Ricoh Pro black & white presses, we would like to say that these machines boost our book printing business. That’s why we have added a third press to our production facility.”

Yogesh Mehra, managing partner, Inspackt Packaging, said, “Ricoh Pro C7200x digital press has transformed our business in ways we couldn't have imagined. With its 11-colour printing capabilities, media versatility and inclusion of unique colours like neon yellow, neon pink, gold, silver, invisible red, clear varnish, and white, along with CMYK, it has opened a new world of possibilities. It's like having an artist's palette at our disposal. The Ricoh Pro C7200x has been a game-changer for us because it allows us to produce packaging materials that stand out. We can match metallic and Pantone finishes effortlessly.”

Ashwani Arya, director, Perfect Color Digital Prints, said, “During the process of selecting the printing press, Monotech Systems supported us well. We produce applications, not print. Whenever I asked for the samples, team Monotech Systems was ready. When we produced critical jobs, it became a joint effort because neither we nor Monotech Systems knew all the features of the machines. Initially, it was a learning phase and handholding was necessary. I must appreciate the way Monotech Systems handheld us.”
