The MSME minister and VIPs inaugurate Pamex show

Pamex 2011's inauguration ceremony began with a folk touch as musicians playing shehnai welcomed the guests and dignitaries to lamp lighting ceremony.

Manoj Mehta, immediate past president, AIFMP in his inaugural address said: "Pamex will provide unmatched level of experience and interaction with both high- and low- end players of the industry."

Vijay Kumar Chopra, editor, Punjab Kesari in his speech requested the new minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Virbhadra Singh, who was the guest of honour of the ceremony, to take necessary actions to help the printing industry to get a much more competitive and level-playing field viz other industries.

Rajan Kothari, who took over as the new chairman of AIFMP, added, "In India, there are over two-lakh printing units operating at various levels. Of these, 1.8-lakh companies are small and medium enterprises. Varying duty on paper and paperboard imports is a major concern."

The minister in his speech said that he is "fascinated" to see that printing has come such a long way and we know that the emerging markets in Asia and Africa have great potential to grow. "I assure you all my best attention and opened doors for sharing your problems and concerns," he said.

Pamex 2013 will be held from 14-17 November in Greater Noida, announced S R Sharma, president, Pamex 2013.
