Reproscan, majorly a pre-press and digital offset print organisation is housed with an HP Indigo 3050 at its shop-floor for printing needs. “We print short-run jobs on our Indigo 3050 and as an extension of what we are doing, we opted for the Presstek,” said Ketan Mehta, technical director at Reproscan. “Now we will be able to take up long-run jobs and give digital like quality on the offset,” he added.
The Presstek 52DI AC with a maximum sheet size of 20inch x 14 inch is an automated four-color digital offset press with an aqueous coating feature. The Presstek features support for 300 lpi and FM screening, 10-minute job-to-job turnover (including on-press plate imaging), and a small environmental footprint. The press prints up to 10,000 full-size sheets per hour on any offset stock up to 0.020" (0.5mm) thick. We are able to print at 200lpi to 300lpi consistently which is otherwise difficult to achieve," claims Mehta
The unique feature of the machine according to Mehta is the consistency of the prints achieved during production. “The machine offers 44 plates to be imaged on single spool for a single unit,” says Mehta.
Reproscan now offers in-house solutions for pre-press to post-press.
