Satheesh, proprietor, SK Marketing, said, the company went for the machine because of its quality output, offset-like finish, media versatility and lower gsm sheets.

“We started our digital unit with C70. We decided to invest in the new machine to increase our production volume. Media handling and quality output of the machine cannot be matched by other brands, “Satheesh said. “Also, Xerox engineers have been very helpful.”

He added, “We decided to go for Xerox instead of other similar machines because of its strong hardware and workflow solutions, especially for quality and easy handling of media and workflow through inline software solutions.”

Established in 1997, SK Marketing manufactures ID card holders and lanyard clips, photo ID cards and ID card lanyards.

Almost 75% of its clients are in ID cards, though slowly the company is diversifying to digital printing segments and offset short runs. The company employs 30 people who work in the 4,000-sqft shop floor equipped with the Xerox Versant 280, lamination machines, cutting machines, id card fusing and finishing equipment.

Satheesh said getting trained manpower has been an issue. Therefore, the company is getting into Xerox workflow automation which minimises both pre-press and post-press time.

“Our experience with the machine has been good. We had no difficulty in running the press as we had earlier used Xerox C70,” he added.
