Indra Narayan Mittal, owner, Narain Printers, said, “We have 22 printing units sized 28x40 inches, inlcuding our new addition. The five-colour Heidelberg printing press will help us deliver rising demand for books and will also enable us to increase our production from 50,000 to 75,000 books a day.”
Narian Printers clients include both, government and private sectors. Saraswati House, Cordova Publishing, Oxford and Viva are some of the firm's clients.
The book printing firm was established 19 years ago and has a complete setup for platemaking and processing from Memory Repro Systems, and consumes around 100 CTP plates to feed its multicolour offset printing presses from Heidelberg and Polygraph, and web printing presses from Faridabad-based KK Printing Machines and NBG Printographic.
Mittal said, “We keep ourselves updated with technologies and figure out ways to implement them," adding, "we regularly visit upgraded plants and exhibitions." When asked about his expansion plans, he said, "We are in the process of acquiring land and investing in mono printing press, some finishing equipment and CTP solutions."
Mittal is assisted by his son Prashant in managing the business. With a turnover of Rs 9-crores last year, the firm expects an increase of Rs 2-crores this year. The printing firm has a staff of 100 and consumes five tonnes of paper a day in its round-the-clock operation.
