Rahul Badgujar, director, Narmada Offset, said, “In order to improve our productivity and accuracy, we decided to invest in a six-clamp machine, WB2000. The new WB2000 has replaced a single clamp perfect binding machine at our facility.”

The machine, which was installed in April 2013, runs up to 80% of its capability. Complimenting Welbound’s service support, Badgujar added, “We looked at other alternatives available in the market, but Welbound’s service support simplified our decision-making process in favour of the Kerala-based manufacturer.”

Narmada, who specialise in calendars and textbooks was established in 1996 by Prakash Badgujar, father of Rahul, with three mini offset presses from Swift, Mudrika, and Padmini. In those days, the binding work was done manually.

In 2007, adding automation to its binding, Narmada commissioned its first single clamp perfect binding machine. Today, in addition to the WB2000, Narmada’s facility houses a fleet of single-colour and two-colour presses from Heidelberg, Komori, HMT, Mudrika and Swift and a range of finishing equipment.

The firm is managed by Prakash with his sons Rahul and Paresh.
