The seventh edition of PrintWeek India Awards Night will be broadcast on NDTV Profit/Prime channel on 24 October (Saturday) at 12:00 pm. The repeat telecast of the show will be on 25 October (Sunday) at 6:00 pm.
The broadcast will feature the celebration from the Awards Night, lauded by the top printers across India, held on 7 October at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai. On the gala night, PrintWeek India honoured 28 print companies across 20 quality and six performance categories with the prism, celebrating the power of print.
On the Awards night, Suresh Ramakrishnan, publishing director at Haymarket Media India, the publisher of PrintWeek India, said, “The Indian print industry is twice the size of the Indian film industry and galloping towards a turnover of USD 30 billion, with a solid double-digit growth.”
As for the top honours, it’s the third PrintWeek India Printing Company of the Year Award for Manipal Technologies. The Manipal-headquartered print behemoth, with factories and operations all over India, personifies everything that’s solid about the Indian print industry – charismatic leaders, and a professional team backed by technology and best practices.
Pragati Offset bagged, three Awards, Silverpoint bagged a brace; and regulars were: Any Graphics, Jayna, Jak, Marvel, Spectrum Scan, Vishwakala, Replika, Sri Sivarama Digital Press, Jagran Prakashan, Parksons Packaging, Lustra Print Process, Prodon Enterprises, Liberty Graphics, and Shilp Gravures.
Chanakya Mudrak from Delhi, First Impression, Neat Graphics, Synthesis Communication, Mazda Imaging, Brandmark Solutions and DMA Yellow Works in Mumbai and SFA Print from Sivakasi were amongt the first time winners at the Awards night. One print firm that grabbed attention was Bhiwandi-based Print Plus, with the SME Print Company of the Year title.
The Award night was hosted by the film and theatre actor Denzil Smith.
Kevin Flynn, president and managing director for India Operations of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles India was the chief guest at the Awards night. Flynn after addressing the 333 VIP print delegates also handed over the Prism to the PrintWeek India Company of the Year to Gautham Pai of Manipal Technologies.
Tanvi Parekh from the PrintWeek India team launched the PrintWeek India Studio at the Awards night. The online website will showcase the best and innovative print jobs from print companies across the countries, for the industry to admire print.
