New Delhi’s Royal Offset installs India’s first Xerox Iridesse

New Delhi-based Royal Offset Printers became the first Indian firm to own Xerox’s new Iridesse production press. The Iridesse was launched in Warsaw, Poland at the Xerox Iridesse Production Press Premiere in May 2018 and made its India debut at PrintExpo 2018 in Chennai.

Xerox’s Iridesse production press is the first-of-its-kind toner-based digital press with CMYK plus two speciality dry colours in a single pass. According to Xerox, “Iridesse is the only digital press that can print metallic gold or silver dry ink, CMYK and clear dry ink in a single pass. It prints at ultra HD resolution of 2,400dpi and uses Xerox’s High Definition Emulsion Aggregate toner.”

This is the latest addition to Royal Offset’s digital division which already runs a Xerox Versant 2100 and a Konica Minolta kit.

“The Xerox Iridesse Colour production press, an industry first, sets a new benchmark in the high end-production printing segment. The press is known for its high-value capabilities and specialty dry ink stations which allow customers to create lucrative applications with spot colours, metallic and mixed metallic gradients, and specialty enhancements, Balaji Rajagopalan, executive director- technology, channels & international business, Xerox India, said.

He added that Xerox is pleased to have further strengthened its relationship with Royal Offset Printers. “We have seen Vikas and his facility grow by leaps and bounds and are extremely proud to say that Xerox has been a part of this incredible journey. We hope with the Xerox Versant 2100, Duplo DC 646 and the new Iridesse production press, they achieve even greater heights. The duty cycle of the machine is up to 2,250,000 impressions per month, life in prints is 13 crore A4 impressions. The print speed is 120 ppm (A4), and paper weight range from 52 to 400gsm. Paper size can be printed from 182x182 to 330x488mm and print resolution is 2400x2400dpi.
