WARC announces entries for 2015 Social Strategy Prize

World Advertising Research Centre (WARC) has announced the WARC Prize for Social Strategy 2015, a global competition to find the best examples of social ideas that drive business results.

The prize, now in its second year, looks for examples of marketing or communications strategies that inspire social effects along a measurable business impact. It is free to enter, and open to clients and agencies.

The 2014 competition received more than 130 entries from around the world, with the USD5000 Grand Prix won by a case study from AMV BBDO and snack brand Doritos.

The deadline for entries is 23 January 2015, and the winner will be announced in May 2015.

GSK chooses SapientNitro as global digital agency of record for Panadol

Healthcare company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has appointed SapientNitro as its global digital agency of record for its Panadol brand.

Earlier this year, GSK also hired global agency Vertic as its digital agency for Singapore, working across a number GSK's key consumer brands.

Panadol falls within GSK’s consumer wellness products and is one of the world's leading paracetamol-based pain relievers. It is sold in more than 85 countries, including India, where it is called Crocin and Colombia where it is marketed as Dolex.

Ad club's event to host Facebook's Mark D'Arcy on 31 October

The Ad Club is all set to host Mark D'Arcy, VP and chief creative officer, Facebook Creative Shop. The venue and time of the session are yet to be made public, informs an official statement by The Ad Club.

Mark D'Arcy joined Facebook in 2011 to explore the social network's creative potential. He went on to form Facebook Creative Council which allows Facebook as a platform to better engage and educate the global creative community

Prior to joining Facebook, Mark spent 7 years at Time Warner in New York as chief creative officer for its Global Media Group.
