According to Jayant Pardiwala of Nippon Color, nowadays companies are investing in CTCP purely because of its low plate cost. PS plates are around 30% cheaper compared to thermal and violet plates. “Printers who are using more than 2,500 plates per month and printing maximum 250 lpi have also opted for UV CTCP technology so that they can save money on plates,” he said.
Saving money on plate prices was the reason why Mumbai’s Nikeda Art Printers opted for the Cron UV CTCP solution. The company is currently using Violet CTP. Pardiwala said with the new system, the customer will save around Rs 18,00,000 per year.
It was the same motivation for Mumbai’s Aldel Sales Corporation as well. The company is currently using Screen thermal CTP and opted for the Cron UV CTCP Solution so that they can save money on plate prices. Pardiwala said with the new system, the customer will save around Rs 20,00,000 per year.
Earlier, Nippon Color had sold a Cron thermal CTP to Award Offset Printers. The new device will be installed at its new Silvasa plant. Pardiwala said the company opted for the Cron thermal CTP because of its high quality output, long-lasting laser diode and reliability. This device can expose any process-less plates available in the market, and the maintenance of the system is minimal.
