“The current systems really needed an update,” Rakesh Dave, managing director of QIPC-EAE India, said. “The main motivation for this new investment is to save on waste. In addition, thanks to our systems, they will also be able to deliver better and more consistent print quality."

The collaboration between the daily newspaper and QI Press Controls (QIPC), the Dutch specialist in measuring and control equipment for the printing industry, started four years ago. Since then, the Siliguri-based company has been using QIPC's measurement and control equipment.

Uttar Banga Sambad is a market leader in northern Bengal” said Dave. “It has the largest circulation in the Siliguri region. The fact that the newspaper has approached us to extend the cooperation shows how satisfied they are with the current installation.”

Uttar Banga Sambad is the first newspaper in the West Bengal which did not come from Calcutta. With 63% market share in the region, it prints five regional editions from Siliguri; Jalpaiguri; Cooch Behar; Alipurduar and Malda.
