In an exclusive conversation with PrintWeek India at their plush Gurgaon office, Puneet Datta of Canon India said, "Océ is to launch a new full colour inkjet printer, the Colorstream 3700, which is a speed upgrade of its CS 3500 machine, at Drupa in May."

Océ's new printer offers a process speed of 100m/minute and is 33% faster than the CS3500, which prints at 75m/minute. It will be commercially available in the second half of the year.
The Colorstream 3700 will be the third new press launched by Océ in 2012 following earlier announcements about the launch of the Jetstream 1900 and 4300 models.
Océ is to demonstrate the CS 3700, along with a full finishing solution, at its Drupa stand. The company has not confirmed a list price for the new machine but has given an estimate of around €2m.
Printers will be able to upgrade from a Colorstream 3500 press to the latest CS 3700 model.
Datta said: "Océ is also holding an open house event at its 4,000sqm showroom in Poing, from 7-11 May, where it will show six lines in full production, including its Jetstream 4300 press alongside a Manroland book folder."
Datta also mentioned that print CEOs from India that are attending Drupa will be persuaded to take a side trip to Poing near Munich, which is an hour's flight from Dusseldorf.
Speaking at a Canon's 100,000 sq/ft plush office Datta said: "In 2012 we will launch three new models - the JS 1900 and the JS 4300 and the CS 3700.
"We believe that these three models will further accelerate the transition from toner to inkjet and from mono to colour.
"The CS 3700 is more than 30% faster than its closest competitors and prints at a comparable quality."
Datta predicted that an important issue at Drupa 2012 would be the "industrialisation" of digital print.
"Digital print will have reached a new level through product enhancements; it can now be used to print high volumes and it can reach a greater number of applications," he said.
During the above conversation the Canon team undertook a short tour for the PrintWeek India in the new corporate headquarters which has 100,000 square feet office housed in Cyber Terraces in Gurgaon.
The office has capacity to accommodate workforce of over 811 people in its new elegantly done office. The company's software division, earlier located in Noida has also shifted to this new location now, amalgamating its workforce further.
Speaking about the office, Datta said, ''Leveraging the latest advancements in employee collaboration and design, this new building reinforces many of the core values of our company- innovation, collaboration, integration of workforces and working for the common good. Our new office will certainly supplement our goal of becoming a $ 1 billion company by 2015 and this office will witness that milestone for sure.''
