An ode to the label leaders

The stage is set for the LMAI Conference 2015 edition. The PrintWeek India team of Noel D'Cunha and Rahul Kumar are en route to the Pink City for the biennial convention.

24 hours ahead of the conference, we thought it would be a good deed to pay ode to the PrintWeek India Label Printer of the Year Award winners. 
 
To begin with, in the 2015 Awards edition, Epson India has come on board as the category sponsor of the Label Printer of the Year category. Vasudevan L K, DGM - Prographic Products, Sales and Marketing, Epson India, commented, "We are happy to be part of a platform that celebrates excellence in the field of printing. Since the first edition in the  year 2009, we have seen Universal Print Systems; Chennai,  Sel Jegat, Sivakasi; Manohar Packaging, Mumbai; Any Graphics, Noida and Pragati Pack India, Hyderabad claim the title. With the 2014 Award, Any Graphics scored a hat-trick in the category.

2014
Any Graphics (Noida)
Winner of PrintWeek India Label Printer of the Year 2014.The jury was impressed with the opportune use of raised printing, silver hot stamping and thick UV coating on thin fonts. Any Graphics’ state-of-the-art technology is capable of using a wide range of paper, film and foil substrates, complex adhesives, ink formulations, latest colour matching systems, sophisticated graphic designs and reproduction formats. The company has received many national and international accolades for their innovative and industry standard print jobs.
 
2013
Any Graphics (Noida)
Any Graphics collects the Awards thanks to their outstanding work for Kent Supreme, Seven Islands, Kholasaat and Red Lion.
 
The judges were very impressed with the diversity of the samples. All the samples were printed on different substrates like metallised polyester (Kent Supreme and Seven Islands), a combination of clear and metalised film for Kholasaat and Vinyl was used in the production of the Red Lion job. The natural feel and effect generated for the Red Lion label enthralled the judges.
 
Another aspect that the judges appreciated in Any Graphics’ samples was the aesthetic appeal that the printer was able to provide to each job by using a wide range of technological and procedural innovations, which truly set them apart from the competition.

2012
Any Graphics (Noida)

Any Graphics (Noida) & Pragati Pack India (Hyderabad)2012
 
Pragati Pack is a sister company of Pragati Offset and Pragati Flexo. In January 2007, Pragati kickstarted its label project with the installation of an eight-colour MPS EF 410 and a Nilpeter narrow-web flexo press. The company later installed a brand new Steinemann Lotus 102SF solvent-free lamination machine, which complemented its latest addition to the press armoury, an MPS flexo 330mm eight-colour press, the first installation in India.
 
2011
Manohar Packaging (Mumbai)
Manohar Packaging had the judges admiring the immaculately produced crisp print of even the small sized text on the four samples for liquor labels. According to the jury, the entries addressed the key aspects with "micro mesh pattern on the background over blue on the Antiquity Blue Whisky label."
 
2010
Sel Jegat, Sivakasi
It was a easy sweep for the first-time entrant Sel Jegat, while Pragati Pack beat off stiff competition (by half a decimal). Sel Jegat's entries were a display of first-rate illustrations printed from five- to eight-colours with spot varnish on Avery and Raflatac substrate. The ‘No Smoking’ label was one of the most-talked about entry on the floor.
 
2009
Universal Print Systems, Chennai
The first edition of the Awards. Universal Print Systems's labels were, as the judges described, complex yet effective –  how good labls should be. Printed on a Mark Andy 2200 (flexo), the four labels put up a show of inline cold foiling and die-cutting.
 
 
 
The PrintWeek India Awards Night will be held on 7 October, 2015.
