Odisha to get a banknote paper mill

Bank Note Paper Mill India (BNPM), a joint venture of the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL), and the Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran, will set up a banknote paper manufacturing facility in Balasore district, Odisha.

According to news reports, the mill will come up at Padabadagaon village under Remuna Block in Balasore district with an investment of Rs 2,500-crore.

Bank Note Paper Mill India has a plant in Mysuru in Karnataka, with a total capacity of 12,000 metric tonne per annum (MTPA).

Recently Bank Note Paper Mill officials shared the details with Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik regarding the project. 

Later, a five-member team from the RBI visited the spot and assessed the infrastructure required for the project. Around 100 acres of land is required to set up the mill.
