OPA installs vending machine at DIC office
The office bearers and executive committee members of the Offset Printers’ Association, on 15 January 2015 attended the district-level single-window clearing meeting, held under the Industries Facilitation Act, 2005, to put forward the proveniences and difficulties being faced by the industry.

The delegates were invited to attend the meeting by Mahesh Khanna, general manager, District Industries Centre, Ludhiana. During the meeting Khanna said, the new EM Part-2 number is available to the existing industry, but these will be valid until 2018, as per the government instructions.
During this meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between DIC and OPA for the installation of a three-option vending machine at the premises of the DIC in Ludhiana.
Kamal Chopra, general secretary, OPA, said the machine has been installed taking in consideration the difficulties being faced by the staff and visitors to the office. As per the MoU signed, OPA will install the machine without any charges. However, its maintenance and up-keep will be the responsibility of the DIC office. The DIC will also take care for the running expenditure and maintenance cost, if any.
Earlier, Gagandeep Singh, secretary, OPA, said the office of GM, DIC can use the machine as long as they desire, but whenever they feel that they do not require the machine, the DIC, Ludhiana, will have to return the machine to the OPA. Further, the DIC office will not use the machine for commercial purposes.
