Pragati Pack followed up its win in the Label category with another in the Packaging Convertor category with its four varied samples that all drew praise from the judges.

The company produced 9,000 Black Dog 21 years cartons for United Spirits; 300 Seven Islands cartons for Tilaknagar Industries; 20,000 Maker’s Mark cartons for Beam Global; and 20,000 Vladivar Vodka cartons for United Spirits.

The Black Dog 21 years’ special feature was the soft touch lamination, foiling and spot UV. The rigid box was constructed with magnetic closure flat. The velvet finish is used to enhance the quality of the box, while the thermoformed velvet flock HIPS material ensure high impact strength and no scratches on the bottle or label. The judges were impressed by the simple, modern design style and its consistent execution. “The use of material was not flashy, but practical, forward looking and action-oriented.”

But special mention must go to the Seven Islands cartons and the octagonal shape, which according to Pragati Pack, is quite unique. “The outer pack is printed on metallised PET with online texture and gloss, while the inner is made specially with a soft compressible foam and wrapped with metallised matt gold PET,” says Pragati Pack. The stitching of the background does enhance the box appeal, said one Judge. The bottle is held at the bottom through an EVA foam structure, locking for which is done using magnets.

The packs were printed on a Mitsubishi Diamond 1000 UV press with double coater in CMYK plus special colours. The CTP plates were fired at 200lpi screening.
