Packtech in Mumbai from 15 to 17 December

The International PackTech India returns to the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre in Goregaon East, Mumbai, for the ninth edition of International Exhibition for processing, packaging and printing. The show is scheduled to be held from 15-17 December 2016.

The organisers of the show are expecting the trade fair trio to attract around 250 exhibitors, with the exhibition space area of 14,000 sq/m. In the past year, the event had a 37% increase in the visitors, reaching an all-time high with over 10,000 visitors in all.

The first edition of Packaging Design, Innovation and Technology conference will be held alongside the ninth edition of the International PackTech India. The show is scheduled from 15 to 17 December 2016 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.

At the conference, Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, president and CEO Messe Düsseldorf and initiator of save food, will be the keynote speaker. Debabrata Deb, director at Future Formats, Gerard Caron, co-founder of Carre Noir, William Perell, president and founder at PopPack, Prabodh Halde, head regulatory at Marico, Swati Singh Sambyal, programme manager in environmental governance (Municipal Solid Waste) team at CSE. Sukhdev Singh Saini, packaging design and development lead for AMEA region at General Mills International, Cheryl Harrison, directs creative strategy, branding, design and marketing communications to meet strategic goals for PopPack and Deepak Manchanda, an associate with The Packaging Consortium are the speakers at the conference.

The other development is the Interpack alliance. According to Messe Dusseldorf authorities, "this will span all international events staged by Messe Düsseldorf under its processing and packaging portfolio".

Besides Interpack (the Drupa for the packaging industry) the alliance includes Upakovka (Moscow), Food Pex (Shanghai), China Pharm (Shanghai), Bulk Pex (Shanghai), Pacpro Asia (Shanghai), Packtech India/Food pex India (Mumbai), Components (Düsseldorf), Food Processing & Packaging Exposyum Kenya (Nairobi), Indopack (Jakarta), and Process Expo (Chicago).

The four Chinese trade fairs take place every two years in a combined event known as Shanghai World of Packaging (SWOP). The FPPE Kenya in December 2016 and the Upakovka in January 2017 will be the first two trade fairs displaying a new visual identity.

International PackTech India

From 2016 onward, the International PackTech and Drink Technology India, the two trade show will be complemented by FoodPex India. The registration for the exhibitors is open.

This brings together the expertise of Messe Düsseldorf and Messe München as the organisers of their respective leading trade fairs in the packaging sector and the related processing industry – interpack (Messe Düsseldorf) and drinktec for the beverage and liquid food industry (Messe München).

Like their parent trade fairs in Germany, the three events map the entire process chains in their industries, yet with the focus on the Indian market. From 2016 FoodPex India will be added to the existing trade fairs, PackTech India (packaging, packaging materials/packaging means/packaging production, packaging technology and packaging printing) and drink technology India (processing and bottling of beverages and the entire liquid food chain, including all milk products, oils and fats). FoodPex India features solutions for the processing and packaging of food of all kind. The trade fair trio will be held at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre in Mumbai from 15 to 17 December 2016.

The sponsor of the three trade fairs is the German Machinery & Plant Manufacturers' Association (VDMA). Other partners of PackTech India and FoodPex India are the Institute of Packaging Machinery Manufacturers of India (IPMMI) in Mumbai and the Indian Flexible Packaging & Folding Carton Manufacturers’ Association (IFCA).
