The company will highlight its new technological offerings on Novacut with the Accuregister, a contact-less registration system which is a great feature to increase the productivity and efficiency of the machine and offers 100% zero fault packaging. 

“Also, we would be talking of the new entry-level Accubraille we would introduce on Bobst folder-gluers. All these would be on display during the Bobst India Pune Open House planned for October 2024,” Menon said.

Menon said 2023 has been a year with many ups and downs. “The year was characterized by cyclical demand and the consumption and demand over the year wasn’t steady across segments. The second half of 2023 is when the market started picking up and we saw quite a few investments happening across all verticals and the year ended for us quite well,” he said.

Looking ahead, Menon said the global economy and supply chain and global geo-political situations are uncertain and volatile and many unexpected situations will keep popping up across the globe which directly or indirectly affects the print and packaging industry.

“Thus, it is of paramount importance for companies to keep their Plan B prepared and be resilient enough to face such challenges. Thus, flexibility in terms of production and supply chain, keeping the workforce motivated and retaining the right talent will be the biggest challenge for CEOs and industrialists. Thus, we see companies who have multi-locational manufacturing and efficient supply chain bases spread across with the right mix of technology and capacities survive such storms and risks much better,” he said.

He said the year 2024 brings in a lot of new opportunities and good challenges but also along with it many uncertainties and volatility due to global geo-political situations. “Thus, companies who are well prepared having adopted automation incurring less dependency on labour, having optimum and efficient utilisation of factory space having invested in appropriate technology which helps run efficient and lean operations leading to faster turnaround would be the eventual winners,” he said.

He concluded, “But we, at Bobst, are quite optimistic that customers worldwide will look at investing in efficiency and productivity and the global packaging industry is in the phase of adopting digitalisation in the production value chain with the right automation and driving sustainability in what they buy and produce in parallel to keep up with the demand of global buyers.”
