With 126sq/m stand at the show, the company is poised to showcase its new portfolio of PUR binders for mid and high volume book printers and print-finishing solutions for digital printers and quick printers. The product showcase would include PUR binders, cutting machines, digital slit cut crease and fold systems, numbering machines, lamination and other allied machines.
The PUR System 444 Plus and the Slit Cut Crease and Fold System, which were released at Drupa 2012 will also form part of this exhibit. Anuj Mehta, CEO, First Paper Idea, claims that print finishing is the key to success for any printer today. “Quick and digital printers will churn out new possibilities for the industry. It’s the finishing which adds more value to the print. We're seeing more and more printers transitioning towards a one stop shop for their print buyers instead of just being a printer,” he said.
Mehta who had participated in Drupa 2012 feels that there were several ‘wow’ technologies during the show and is still sceptical about these technologies becoming a near-future reality. He added that the best practice currently prevailing in the industry is that several print companies are buying reliable equipment which can stand by when the company needs it the most.
While the industry is still debating how the decision of moving PrintPack to the new exhibition centre would impact the business and footfall, Mehta is quite confident and adds, “A shift of venue will mostly attract potential buyer and not long term suspects; provided the transportation for visitors are eased out.”
