While explaining the reasons for starting such an initiative, Anuj Mehta, CEO, First Paper Idea, said, “Print buyers are looking for ways to differentiate their printed product from other in the market, and printers are looking for newer revenue streams, and even print finishing is now at the forefront. We intend to create a common platform for printers to share their ideas, best practices and collaborate, with print finishing as their core focus.”
The bi-monthly publication will be available in print and online formats. The postpress equipment manufacturing company is in the process of developing apps based on iOS, Windows or Android to reach readers through handheld devices.
“Our newsletter would be a medium that will enable sharing of best practices, innovative ideas and also feature jugaad practices, which will enable the change that many printers have thought about but never executed. We want to recognise people and companies who believe in changing the way a print can be looked at, through the newsletter,” added Mehta.
At this stage our newsletter is still evolving. We will actively solicit the support of all leading print publications and associations to give us inputs as well as circulate our newsletter. As there is no cost associated with this publication, we would like this newsletter to be shared as widely as possible.
“Currently, the newsletter will focus on Indian graphic art industry. We are excited about this new initiative, and sincerely hope that Indian printers would find it meaningful. We also solicit their co-operation and inputs in making our content more rich and meaningful. It is an initiative to give back to industry and enhance the quality of print finishing amongst Indian printers,” concluded Mehta.
