Participation through CAPEXIL at Frankfurt Book Fair 2013
After a successful Frankfurt Book Fair 2012, CAPEXIL (Chemicals and Allied Products Export Promotion Council) book division’s independent National Pavilions of publishers and printers will return to Franfurt Book Fair's Hall 8, from 9-13 October 2013.

Sponsored by the Government of India through Ministry of Commerce and Industry, CAPEXIL is a non-profit export promotion organisation. CAPEXIL provides export assistance to its member exporters. Participation through CAPEXIL in the India Pavilion at the book fair will get the printers privileges like a fully furnished designer stand and no restriction of export performance of less than Rs 15 crore as well as to members who have already participated three times in the same event under Market Development Assistance (MDA) (if the firm is a valid member of CAPEXIL). Also, members can participate in the above general area fair at subsidised cost.
While CAPEXIL provides the participators with the minimum stand area of furnished: 4 sq/m and above (in multiples of 2 sq/m), Rs 30,000 is the cost per sq/m. The rate includes provision for shelves/tables/chairs, catalogue entry in fair directory, entry pass and company profile in CAPEXIL directory.
The participants of the India Pavilion need to be a member of CAPEXIL and should have a valid Import Export Code (IEC). Also, the financial rules clearly state that the application must accompany 50% advance payment by way of demand draft. This payment will be non-refundable. Other guidelines include mentioning the name of other participants at the stall etc. The applications are to reach CAPEXIL, New Delhi by 24 June and the balance amount by 16 August. The allocation of stands/panels and their location/design will be decided by the competent authority of CAPEXIL. The general rule of first come first served basis remains and application is subject to availability and payment factors.

One of the largest book fairs in the world, the Frankfurt Book Fair is a critical marketing event for the launching of books, but it is also an important event to facilitate the negotiation of the international sale of rights and licences. Held annually in October at the Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds in Frankfurt, Germany, the first three days of the fair are restricted to trade visitors, while the general public can attend on the last two days.
This year’s guest of honour is Brazil, with special focus on Brazilian literature.
