BK Karna, director, PCRI, said, “We have to make corrugated boxes more consumer and environment friendly. This type or training will help to create awareness about the industry which will be fruitful for employment and entrepreneurship development. PCRI conducts various training programmes but for corrugated box, we will be orgainising similar events after six months.”
Cost optimisation and manufacturing techniques were two important topics which were discussed during the programme. The programme was attended by 12-delegates from companies like General Mills, AGI Glaspac, Venkateswara Packaging, Maxpro India and others.
“Corrugated box plays an important role to transport the product from one place to other place. This helps to control the wastages. This industry is still unorganised but great movement has been noticed towards the path of modernisation like adaptation of evolving technologies, installation of high speed automatic machines, ensuring quality assurance and incorporating management systems and techniques for efficient operation of the plants,” concluded Karna.
