The C7800 was supplied by New Delhi-based Reprographics India, the sole distributor in India for KIP machines.
PS Thomas, managing director, Photonics Digital, said, “We are always keen to bring the latest technology at our facility. I was impressed with the print quality of KIP when I first saw the machine at Drupa. The system helps us to cater architectural applications based on CAD.”
“The KIP C7800 system produces lightfast; UV-proof prints which do not fade or exhibit colour deterioration from exposure to light. The prints are ideal for most applications because of their ability to deliver high resolution image quality at production print speeds,” said Akram Mohammed, regional manager (Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh), Reprographics India.
Speaking about the features of the machine, Thomas said, “The KIP C7800 print technology eliminates roll switching delays for increased productivity. Three media decks and an automatic sheet feeder deliver mixed print size at full production speed. Each of the four CMYK cartridges contains 1kg toner allowing longer uninterrupted color and monochrome print runs for continuous system productivity. It can print on various substrates such as paper, film, tracing paper, among others, up to 150gsm.”
The KIP C7800 is capable of producing black and white prints at 4,200 sq/ft per hour.
According to Thomas, this is the first installation of KIP C7800 in India. Thomas has been in the fore-front in bringing in new technologies. In 2008, Photonics installed Kerala’s first Canon VP 7000.
