The Chinese manufacturer of UV lamps is represented by Chennai-based Print Generic Systems. The installation includes three interdeck and three end of press lamps on the machine, said Suresh KR, director, Print Generic System.

Narendra Paruchuri of Pragati said, “The system we had on the machine was about 10 years old. Old generation electronics and also the lamp housings were worn and little water leakage had to be sealed some times. We wanted to go for a new system as UV system is also a consumable.”

“This is a state-of-the-art system where we are saving power as compared to the one we had. The lamps warm up faster than before. And cooling system on the lamp housing is better,” said Paruchuri.

Speaking about their market strategy, Suresh said, “It is a fact that the packaging industry is growing at a rapid phase and especially within the last couple of years there are many commercial printers forayed into the packaging. Today, it has become inevitable to be a packaging converter without an UV application.”

“We are targeting customers who are looking to convert their existing machines into UV printing machines,” added Suresh.

Ya Guang was the distributor for IST UV systems in China and with their technical expertise they have introduced their own UV systems since 2004.
