The full day open house, which included a visit to Pragati Pack’s Gandhinagar facility in Hyderabad, also provided presentations by HP and Pragati team with representatives of major FMCG as well as food and pharma brands from in and around the city in the audience.
In a 60-minute presentation, A Appadurai, country manager, digital press and inkjet business solutions, GSB, HP India, provided an insight on how the digital printing technology is conquering the worldwide markets to help the brand owners sell more and grow their businesses and how various campaigns are being designed with the help of digital printing.
With the help of videos Appadurai presented several case studies of Heineken, Coca-Cola, Loreal, etc, and stressed upon customisation as a key in the current packaging scenario.
Speaking about the cost of digital printing, Appadurai, said, “Even if the cost per print of digital is higher than the conventional technologies, digital is a winner when you consider other costs which go into inventory, handling wastages and risks of market dynamics. Also, the value for a customer that you can generate with customisation and digital printing makes all the difference in favour of digital printing.”
Pragati’s Harsha Paruchuri outlined the capabilities of its Indigo WS6600 press and showcased how brands can leverage it for test marketing, versioning, quick promotion and anti-counterfeiting.
Targeting the pharma companies, Hemant Paruchuri spoke about Pragati Authenticate, which is the company’s umbrella of anti-counterfeit solutions.
In order to demonstrate the customisation power of digital printing, two computers were deployed at the venue for everyone in the audience to design a box cover with a background of their choice and at the end of the day, a personalised sweets box was gifted to each delegate.
