Pune-based Pratham Technologies, the manufacturer of folding machines, inspection and mailing systems, will launch PGV 1618, automatic paper-folding machine at PrintPack India 2013.
This machine is an upgraded version of their existing machine PGV 1215. Launched in 2011, Superfold PGV–PF 1215 is an automatic paper-folding machine, which is specially designed to cater to the applications which require thin paper of 40gsm of to be folded to fit in a small-sized pack.
Anant Salvi, manager-marketing, printing division, Pratham Technologies, said, “The PGV 1618 is a larger machine and is capable of creating 16 Z-folds with a maximum paper size of 450x750mm. The typical applications of this machine include pharmaceutical outsets, leaflets etc and is targeted at customers who cater to export jobs.”
Besides this machine, the company will also launch a taping machine for binding the folded leaflets with transparent tapes. “The machine works inline with folding machine so that the folded leaflets will not open and can stick on the bottle,” added Salvi.
In addition, the company has recently launched an inline inspection system which is already been installed at Mumbai-based Colortec Industries; Saroj Art Printers and Rich Offset. The inspection system is capable of reading pharmacode, barcode, 2D code, pattern match among others.
“This equipment enables easy tracking of wrong paper and avoids mixing of papers or blank. It can generate detailed reports of the jobs as per customer requirement,” says Salvi.
The company has installed more than 3,000 machines worldwide with installations in Middle East, Africa, India, Sri Lanka, and Europe.
Pratham’s 125 sq/m stall is located in Hall 1 at stall A-03/03 of PrintPack India 2013.
