The firm, started by Ram Swaroop Mor in 1976, is empanelled by almost all government departments in the state, and has been providing services to these departments for the last four decades.

“As we work for different clients, both government and private, and retail jobs, the Komori A37 will give us an extra edge for high quality jobs on coated/textured paper of all grammage,” said Anoop Mor, who handles the marketing and sales functions in the company. “We have enquiries for printing brochures from different client segments with textured paper and print quality being the core. Now, we can address it with this machine.”

Beside the public sector, Premier also provides services to private clients in segments like telecom, banking, and education.

Mor said client demand is changing with every passing day. “Nowadays, along with different varieties of papers, clients also demand more play with colours and designs,” he said.

So far, the company only had refurbished machines in its fleet. “With the Komori, we are focusing on printing 80,000-95,000 impressions in a 12-hour shift,” said Mor, adding that previously, with the refurbished machines, the company was getting an average of 40,000 impressions.

“The new Komori has almost doubled our capacity, compared to any other of our machines. This helps us in catering to our customer demand for fast production,” Mor said. He added that the company is more focused on jobs with high print impressions. “In terms of retail, we get five to six jobs a day,” he said.

Premier Press, which started operating with a letterpress, today, has two units in a floor space measuring 50,000 sq/ft. Its fleet of machines includes one four-colour Heidelberg 28x40, one four-colour Komori 28x40, one Poly Dominant 19x26 and the new Komori Lithrone A37. Apart from this, it also has a web machine and a complete post-press setup in-house. The complete pre-press setup includes with TechNova violet CTP and Konica Minolta digital printer.

Ram Swaroop Mor, the proprietor of the company, looks after overall management.

Mor said one of the reasons the company settled for the Komori was its experience with Komori’s other installations in Rajasthan, which was very good. “Again, Komori gave us a leverage compared to other new machines in terms of cost and production,” he said.

Coming back to market demands, Mor said earlier customers were not so much interested in paper type, grammage and so on. “Now, however, there is an increased awareness,” he said. “There is more demand for matt finish paper in quality jobs.”
