Print Summit 2023 marks a thumping return, 1,000 delegates in attendance
Amit Shah, president of BMPA, welcomed close to 1,000 delegates from various walks of the Indian print industry to the 15th edition of the Print Summit at the NCPA on 16 February 2023, which returned to the venue after a gap of two years. The day-long conference was packed with high-powered presentations.

Edition 15 of the Print Summit was hosted at NCPA by the Bombay Master Printer’s Association (BMPA). Close to 1,000 print CEOs, experts, educators and specialists from across India participated in BMPA’s flagship event, which Amit Shah, president of BMPA claimed, was perhaps the biggest show hosted by a print association.
The session started with the traditional lamp lighting session by the industry players. Shah warmly welcomed close to 1,000 delegates from the Indian print and packaging industry.
While motivating the industry, Amit Shah said, “One thing that came out loud and clear was that challenges will come; challenges and changes will come from anywhere and in any form. But the biggest change has come in the form of digital transformation of India or across the globe.”
Shah added that India has seen three major transformations – eCommerce, eEducation, and eBanking. Innovation in banking, for example, has impacted stationery and commercial printing. However, on the other side, labels and packaging have seen an uptick. “Looking at this scenario, we have invited specialised business leaders who have adopted the – Own the change strategy, and grown. These leaders have taken tough decisions, and innovated to meet the current and future market conditions.”
In his presidential speech, Shah also recognised and appreciated the role of past BMPA verticals and members for their generous contribution to this industry. He shared his mantra - stay positive all the time - with the industry.
During the course of the day, there were presentations made. Kedar Lele of HUL kicked off the day’s proceedings with a keynote address which was greeted by a standing ovation. Equally impressive was the presentation by Sudhanvhu Mani, ex-general manager of ICF, who regaled the audience on how ICF evolved to produce the popular Vande Bharat train. His presentation, punctuated with shers and shayaris, much to the audience's delight, gave the presentation a different flavour.
The other speakers were Shasha Fischer, Ranesh Bajaj of Vinsak, Shreyan Daga, Dr Pujya Gnanavatsai Swami, Muthu of Packfora, Jinesh Mehta and Iqbal Kherodawala presenting the lead the change series, Shailendra Singh of ITC, Indraneel Chitale of Chitale Bandhu, and Arunachalam Muruganantham, the Padman of India.
One thing that came out clear and loud by the time the Print Summit concluded was – reinventing. If you have to survive, keep running.
PrintWeek and WhatPackaging? magazines are the official media partners of Print Summit - and the event is being covered by Noel D'cunha, managing editor of PrintWeek, along with seven team members.
