The drive will kick-off from Srinagar on 20 July. From Srinagar, the group will travel to Jammu, Amritsar, Wagah Border, Ferozpur-Shahid Bhagat Singh-Sukhdev-Rajguru Memorial among other sites of historical significance. In addition, the group proposes to visit paper manufacturing mills and international print companies along the way.

It all started ten years ago. The five young men, soon after graduating in printing technology from Hauchler Studio in Biberach, embarked on a road trip in Germany. That was in July 2011. The present road trip is a continuation of the same.

According to Alok Munot: "The trigger for the road trip is Vasant Goel, who is currently based in New Delhi. He has planned to move bag and baggage to Sivakasi, where he has set up one of India’s largest printing units. We decided to come together; one thing led to another and the decision to drive the entire distance from the north to south of India. It will also be an opportunity to celebrate the tenth anniversary of our graduation."

The group will be joined by two photographer friends: Amit Sharma (New Delhi) and Dinesh Gandhi (Pune).

At Delhi, they flag off from India Gate on 26 July. The date has special significance as it is celebrated as the Victory Day (end of Kargil War 1999). The group is scheduled to arrive at Pune on 28 July and end the journey at Vivekananda Rock in Kanyakumari.

They will traverse the 4,500-kilometer passage in 18 days.
