Every member of the gang used to perform different role in the racket.

“The RTO agent Vijay Motwani used to trap uneducated or less-educated people seeking licences. He would convince them and get their details like name and birth date. Kahaar even provided fake letters on the school’s letter pad requesting the RTO to provide licence to the applicant. Motwani used to furnish these letters in the RTO to get licenses for his customers.

“Suresh Tolani, who owns a printing press, provided blank marksheets, leaving certificates and the letter pads of HC Parikh School to Kahaar. We tracked him down and recovered 186 fake leaving certificates,” the police added.

The gang used to charge Rs 1,000 from every individual for providing fake certificates. The accused were involved in the crime over last four to five months. The police said they recovered rubber-stamps of the school and several fake mark-sheets from the gang.
