Printing United witnesses an array of new launches

Printing United, North America’s largest print show was held on 10-12 September 2024. The event received over 30,000 visitors with all major print markets and manufacturers from all over the world gathering in Las Vegas to show and view labels, apparel, wide-format and transactional printing.

Agfa marked the official launch of its new automation line at Printing United

Several products were launched during the show, gathering eyeballs and a great deal of interest.

Agfa unveils robots for Tauro

Agfa marked the official launch of its new automation line which was revealed last month, which comprises a robotic arm solution for the Tauro H3300 UHS printer, available with one or two arms, and a brand-new autoloader for the Onset Grizzly X3 HS printer. The robots’ arms can load and unload stock up to 150 cycles per hour. The Tauro robotic arm is now commercially available. 

Fiery flaunts AI features  

Fiery displayed several pristine inventions at Printing United, taking the digital front-end innovations by storm. The company uncovered two AI products due to launch later this year. Its Ticketing Assistant Software is dependent on large language models (LLM) of AI enabling them to read tickets and transfer them into job tickets. 

Its second AI update is also designed for a quick quality of life fix for printers. Fiery inkwise acts as an inventory management programme for ink shipments allowing them to track their ink usage and stock their products accordingly. 

Canon strengthens its Arizona 1300 series 

Canon has elevated the performance of its Arizona 1300 flatbread printer series by extending its Arizona family to add FLXFlo technology. The new FLXFlo retains the original concept of Hold which allows media to be held on a zoneless flatbed table as well as new functions Float and Instant Switch which enable easier media handling. 

The model is available with immediate effect via accredited partners and through direct sales partners. Its upgrades use images like Advanced Image Layout Controls. 

Catering to Canon’s sustainability goals, the Arizona 1300 series offers reduced waste and lower energy consumption than its predecessors.

Vanguard launches automatic flatbed print to cut 

The American manufacturer has debuted a print-to-offload flatbed printer cutter package that can print and cut a 1.22x2.44-m board in 40 seconds. The machine is an automated amalgamation of Vanguard’s VK3220T-HS flatbed printer and cutting table manufacturer Colex’s Sharp Cut digital flatbed cutter. The machine has primarily been designed for rigid substrates.

The machine has been strategically designed to help automate the workflow of their customers, aiming towards the European market. 

Mimaki debuts four futuristic printers

Mimaki launched several new products at Printing United, most of whose commercial availability is due to begin in the final quarter of 2024. These comprise the 3.2-m TS330-3200DS, which prints with a single inkset on both transfer paper and textiles; the entry-level print and cut CJV200; the 1.6-m direct-to-film (DTF) TXF300-1600; and the 1.213x1.213-mm flatbed JFX200-1213 EX for compact printing and signage.

The TS330 series is capable of printing up to 90-skm/ hour. The platen can print directly onto fabrics and materials. The printer has the ability to do a paper transfer sublimation for certain fabrics and then print directly for others with a single machine and a single inkset. 

Two of the other printers are remodelled versions of existing technology with FX200-1213a square-bed version of the JFX-2513, and the TXF300-1600 a widened version of the TXF300-75 film printer that can print 30% faster than its predecessor.

Xerox reveals Primelink C9200 

The company announced its Primelink C9200 production colour printer. The entry-level production includes features that enable more flexibility and customisation. The press has been made to cater to both commercial and department-level teams. 

The model can handle media of  400- or 350-gsm on auto-duplex and prints with a toner formulation similar to that used in the Iridesse. The C9200 series is modifiable with a variety of feeder and finishing add-ons.
