PrintPack 2019: Shreedhar Labels invests in Lombardi

Minesh Patel, managing director, Sheedhar Printers, said, “We are in the industry for the last two decades. Now, we are diversifying into packaging printing. In the recent times, with many commercial printers moving into packaging, the field has become competitive. However, label printing is still considered to be a specialised segment and it is not as competitive as mono cartons segment as yet.”

The narrow-web flexo press is 430-mm wide. “It is a perfect size for shrink sleeves. It’s the only machine that can print 12-micron polyester films. We can also print upto 350-gsm cardboard,” Patel said.

It’s an eight-colour press with two die-stations and produces labels roll-to-roll and roll-to-sheet. In the machine the auto-registration is in-build.

“We will print labels for pharma, shrink sleeves, FMCG,” Patel said. “Short-run jobs are costly in gravure as cylinders are expensive. Since this machine can print 12-micron, we can tap into that market as well. We have specialisation in short-run jobs in our commercial unit. We do 80 to 100 jobs per day with an average job run is 1000 to 2000 sheets.”

The company has recently installed a RMGT printing press.

The Lombardi will be installed by end of April.
