Venugopal Menon, business director, Bobst India, said, the NovaCut 106 die-cutting machine will augment TCPL’s production facilities, while the ExpertFold with SpeedWave will benefit TCPL’s converting operation. “The ExpertFold with the SpeedWave is a perfect fit for packagers with high volume of crash-lock bottom jobs. It can perform crash-lock bottom jobs at high speeds and it’s much easier to set up jobs. The typical crash-lock bottom applications will be found in liquor, pharma and FMCG product packaging.”
Two other print-packaging companies — K Joshi & Co from Pune and Creative Print & Pack from Hyderabad have invested in Bobst VisionFold folder-gluer during the show.
Creative is equipped with high-end presses and die-cutting machines from Heidelberg. For folding-gluing, we were using a machine from Box-Tech. The company specialises in producing smaller quantities packaging jobs of different varieties like the crash-lock bottom, Z-fold, inner partition and cash cover carton boxes, among others.
The Box-Tech had its limitation, said P Kondaiah Chowdary, CEO at Creative, speaking to PrintWeek India. “The VisionFold will also help us turnaround the jobs in quick time.”
And though Creative does not accept jobs which are of long runs due to its limitation, the Bobst VisionFold will open up the market for it. “Upgrading or converting facility with the VisionFold not only gives us the flexibility to produce cartons of different varieties, but it also gives us the speed to produce more.”
Chowdary concluded, “We will now be able to do high-volume jobs too, since the VisionFold has the capability of producing 350-mtr per minute.”
