Nutech specialises in book printing and high-end commercial print production while Venus is a pre-press bureau.

Speaking to PrintWeek India, Rajesh Malhotra of TechNova said that the Thermostar T9 is growing in popularity. “The key factors are: it’s a thermal machine and its stability is amazing. We have not had a single glitch in the numerous installations of the Thermostar T9 platesetter.”

Besides, the Thermostar T9 on the TechNova stand at PrintPack India 2019 is an upgraded kit. “The platesetter can fire plate at 2,400-dpi to 10,000-dpi (up from 2,400-dpi), making lenticular printing much easier,” said Malhotra. “This translates into expanded application capabilities for commercial printers with unmatched full format throughput speeds.”

The Thermostar T9 uses a single beam laser along with spatial lighting device technology. Ideally suited for commercial printing and an efficient energy-saver, ThermoStar T9 HS uses square laser dot technology to produce dot quality result for FM screen, essential for high-quality colour printing and supports a dot size of up to 20-micron FM screening.

The Thermostar T9 can image up to 40 plates eight-up per hour and can go up to 45 plates of smaller sizes. The platesetter can accept maximum plate size of 1163x940-mm and has an exposing size of 1163x920-mm.

According to PrintWeek India estimates, there are 100+ Thermostar T9 platesetter installed in India. Malhotra did not confirm the numbers citing company policy, but stated that the customer acceptance for Thermostar T9 is growing. “These machines have been installed, among others, in plate service providers who fire around 4,000 to 5,000-sqm per months; so these are kind of workhorses. Plus, there’s excellent vendor support and TechNova's service back-up, which is driving its success.”
