PrintPack 2022: Condot showcases solutions for VDP with security

“Everyone does VDP, but it can be copied. This means there’s no security. We are combining both VDP and security together for the sheetfed, roll-to-roll, roll-to-cut, and other machines,” said Jigish Chiniwala, director, Condot Systems.

The systems can be retrofitted on machines used for commercial printing to convert them to VDP machines with security. This can be used for printing revenue stamps and stamp paper, and other similar tasks that require security features.

Another benefit of the technology is that it can do VDP in multi colour at high speeds – approximately 350 m/min.  

The three machines can print on substrates such as non-porous, porous and cut sheet respectively using different inks and security features.  

“What we expect from this show is the education of the customers/commercial printers about VDP with security,” Chiniwala told PrintWeek.

He said there were limited footfalls to his stall, but those who visited were genuine customers who were interested in the technology. “For me, the strike rate was as good as 100%,” he added.

He is hopeful that people will slowly understand the need for security features and the demand will increase. “This is the first time we are showcasing the updated version of VDP with security. However, awareness still remains a challenge and the show provides a platform to educate the industry,” he concluded.
