One automatic square-bottom paper bags manufacturing machine, the ZD-F450QX, was picked up by Guntur-based Kommineni Printpack.

Established in 2021, this investment marks the company’s entry into the paper bags segment. N Siva Rama Krishna and his cousin K Babu were supposed to start the project in 2019 but got delayed by two years due to the pandemic. Now, the project will start from June 2022

“We have been in the printing packaging industry for the last 15 years, and have facilities for offset and gravure printing. Now, we are entering the paper bag manufacturing business in a big way,” N Siva Rama Krishna of Kommineni Printpack said. “As the government plans to ban plastic, we want to grab the opportunity. We would like to establish ourselves as a prominent player in paper bags manufacturing for the domestic and export market.”

For this, the company has established a new automatic plant in Guntur. The company plans to produce two lakh paper bags per day and five million bags per month, of 220 to 550-mm width.

“We have also invested in a four-colour flexo press to produce multicolour paper bags. We can also produce bags with blisted handles and plane handles. We can also customise jobs as per the client’s requirement,” Krishna added.

He added that NBG’s expertise in web offset printing press manufacturing for the last two decades is what attracted the company to this particular machine. “We felt that we will get better service from NBG.

The machine, which is at the exhibition, will now go to the company shopfloor.

Silvassa-based ARR Paper booked the other automatic square-bottom paper bag machine, the ZD350.

Meanwhile, Pragati Pack purchased the ZD350D automatic high-speed rigid box manufacturing machine for its Noida plant.

The fourth machine, the HT10 unit type flexo printing machine, was booked by an overseas customer.

Nitin Garg of NBG Printographic Machinery said, “We have installed around 80 automatic paper bags manufacturing machines at 15 customers. The number is rising. We are happy to provide solutions for sustainable products and green carrying solutions. The segment is growing and we are ready to serve the opportunity with our solutions.”
