Kapoor Imaging, a Chennai-based company, is expanding its reach across India with plans for new offices and strategic partnerships. The company, which has built a strong presence in the printing industry, is now focusing on expanding its footprint in packaging and newspapers.
Giridharan S, executive director of Kapoor Imaging, said, “We have offices in Kozhikode, Bangalore, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Cuttack, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. We also have clearing and forwarding offices in Indore, Delhi, and Chandigarh, and we are planning to expand further in the North with two more offices.”
“We represent top brands and primarily sell consumables, including plates for the printing industry. We’re distributors for Lucky Huaguang from China, and we also convert Keneo blankets. Additionally, we manufacture chemicals under a license from RVB Chemicals America.”
Kapoor Imaging also has an established reputation in the printing sector for selling a variety of equipment, including CTP, thermal, CTCP, and flexo machines under the Topaz brand. Recently, the company has forged a partnership with Kodak for the all-India distribution of process-free plates and CTPs.
“The partnership with Kodak has been very successful so far,” Giridharan said. “We’ve already sold some Flexo CTPs and expect to sell a couple of Kodak CTPs as well as our own Topaz CTP. The response has been excellent, but we’re not revealing client names just yet.”
Reflecting on the company’s participation in PrintPack 2025, Giridharan mentioned that the response has been positive. “The response this year has been fantastic. PrintPack has always been a key event for us, but this time the response has been even better. We’ve had a lot of visitors from the newspaper sector, which is very encouraging.”
He said that the reach has been wider, and the quality of visitors has been excellent. “Overall, it’s been a valuable experience for us.”
Looking at the broader trends in the printing and packaging industry, Giridharan observed that while digital technology continues to grow, offset printing will remain essential. “There’s a lot of talk about digital technology taking over, but I don’t believe offset will be replaced. Digital is growing, but it’s still not ideal for long-run jobs. The inks are proprietary, and the formats need more development,” he explains. “Digital and offset will complement each other; both will continue to exist side by side for years to come.”
Reflecting on Kapoor Imaging’s performance, Giridharan said, “2024 was a fantastic year for us. We established a strong presence in the newspaper sector, and we’re looking forward to growing even further in packaging and newspapers this year. With Kodak joining us, we expect a significant boost in sales.”
