TPH, present in Hall 14/Stand I21 at PrintPack India 2025, is showcasing five presses, including three machines, which are brand-new launches.

Speaking to PrintWeek/WhatPackaging?, Rishabh Kohli, managing director of the TPH Orient group of companies, said the first is a folder gluer, which was launched a year and a half ago at a previous event. The second is a digital inkjet LNP series showcased in India during Label Expo India.

Among the brand new unveils is the Orient Excel Plus, a web offset press with a bearer-to-bearer system and AC drive, which was introduced to cater to a specific segment of clients. The Orient Jet C series, a 1200 DPI water-based press, was also unveiled. “This press is versatile, suitable for both commercial printing and packaging applications. It’s already been sold, and it uses our proprietary delivery system,” Kohli said.

The third new launch was a 1000 mm sleeve-type flexo press, designed for flexible packaging and mono cartons. This press features X-gear technology and represents a significant advancement for TPH. “Once you go above 850 mm, sleeve technology becomes essential. This is a brand-new concept for India,” Kohli explained. The press is fully made in India, showcasing TPH’s commitment to local manufacturing.

Kohli highlighted the positive feedback TPH has received on print quality, particularly for its inkjet presses. “Our presses rival, and in some cases surpass, those of larger competitors due to our attention to detail,” he said. The company’s proprietary ink delivery system, which is in the process of being patented, ensures higher ink utilisation efficiency. “The way we disperse ink into the heads is unique, and it contributes to superior print quality,” Kohli added.

In addition to print quality, TPH is focusing on sustainability. The company promotes water-based inks for its inkjet presses and offers solar solutions to clients through its sister company, Orient Solar. “We provide significant discounts on solar modules for clients who purchase our presses, helping them reduce their carbon footprint,” Kohli said.

Kohli noted that digital printing, particularly inkjet technology, is experiencing unprecedented demand. “The level of interest in digital presses for packaging, labels, and commercial printing is extraordinary,” he said. Flexo and web offset presses are also performing well, but digital remains the standout segment.

When asked about the impact of recent government policies, Kohli expressed optimism. “The budget is designed to boost demand, and it should positively affect the market,” he said. However, he emphasised that the printing industry needs to focus on emerging technologies to attract investment and scale up. “Mergers and acquisitions will be crucial for growth. Traditional printers should not shy away from exploring flexo or digital technologies,” he advised.

Looking ahead, TPH aims to launch a new inkjet press at Labelexpo Europe in Spain, which will be held later this year, focusing on print quality and sustainability. “This press has been under R&D for seven to eight months and will use our proprietary ink delivery system,” Kohli revealed. The company is also exploring opportunities in the export market while continuing to cater to domestic demand.
