PrintPack 2015 will be hosted from 11 to 15 February at the India Expo Centre, Greater Noida.

CP Paul of IPAMA while speaking to PrintWeek India on the day he returned from the USA says the show will remain a solid a print technology event and that 65more than two-thirds of the stalls has been booked. He spoke about the interest for the recently elected Indian PM and the February show by top members of NPES and GraphExpo.

Paul said, “In spite of a tough period the Indian manufacturing industry has been continually developing, adding new product categories which are cost effective and relevant for the printer. The fact that the Indian web offset manufacturers in particular are, perhaps, the best in the world right now, we are hosting a Web Offset Conference during PrintPack.” This session attended by 200 delegates will discuss new technologies and strategies that should benefit the newspaper publishing and narrow web industry in India.

IPAMA’s president, K S Khurana, is equally bullish. He said, “IPAMA is a part of Global Print, an international federation of printing industry members created to further the interests of manufacturers of printing, paper-making and converting machinery, equipment and consumables.” As a result of this, IPAMA has promoted Printpack 2015 at shows in Malaysia, Korea and USA.

Khurana told us, “IPAMA will also support the other segments through roadshows in November.” The target is 40 cities. This includes main metros and b and c tier cities plus participation at trade shows in India.

He added, “After the web offset players in Faridabad, it is hubs like Amritsar which we intend to boost. The hub at Amritsar manufactures corrugated box making machines, die-cutting machines, paper cutting machines and small machines for perforation work. Around 125 die-cutting machines a month are produced which is 80% of India’s total production. Ahmedabad and Rajkot in Gujarat is doing well, Coimbatore with Autoprint has eight players, which again is a solid hub.

Trivandrum with Welbound is doing very well, the market in Karnataka is also quite strong. Plus there is TechNova and Manugraph in Maharashtra.

With this in mind, CP Paul has dubbed the 12th PrintPack as number three in the world. And the show in February 2015 event will hope to reach out to other stake holders like Indian ink and paper manufacturers; as well as print associations.

Paul added, “One of our aims is to provide free shuttle bus service plus an arrangement with the Delhi Metro so to engage with new visitor as well as new exhibitor groups.”

The categories IPAMA is focussing on are: Pre-press, print (web offset and sheetfed), post-press, UV technologies, screen print, signage, converting, package printing; consumables and materials; as well as finance and banking services.

In addition, there will be a daily seminar and technical workshop, plus TV ads; so that the exhibitors benefit from a higher profile than at previous PrintPacks.

Exhibitor bookings for the remaining space is open; and indicators are the show should be fully booked. Paul is hopeful that PrintPack 2015 will fill all of India Expo Centre’s halls and the event’s net 40,000sqm (with hangars).
