PrintPack India 2022 opens
After a delay of more than two years, and after several change of dates owing to the pandemic, the 15th edition of PrintPack India, the country’s premier exhibition for the printing and packaging industry, finally opened its doors on 26 May 2022. Organised by the Indian Printing Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers' Association (IPAMA), the show is on until 30 May at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida.

During the opening ceremony, Rakesh Sodhi, president, IPAMA, said that 487 companies are participating at the show, which is spread across 25,000-sqm. This is a bigger area than it was during the last edition.
The industry mood at the show, coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic, and after almost two years of uncertainty, was cautiously optimistic. This showed in the number of exhibitors present and the machinery they brought to the show for display and demonstration.
There are a total of 487 exhibitors at the show spread across 10 halls. While halls 5 and 7 are dedicated to the label industry; exhibitors related to the corrugation industry are in halls 14 and 15. This reflects the industry focus towards packaging.
Most of all, at this major industry event after a long period of time, the industry players are looking forward to meeting their customers face-to-face without the mask on (in most cases), and the customers did not disappoint.
On the first day itself, the show witnessed a decent footfall, with several companies already announcing deals.
Even the weather was in favour of the industry. After a heatwave-like situation in New Delhi in early May, the weather on the first day was a moderate 32 degrees. It bodes well for the show for the next four days.
