Rajeev Jagga, director, Ample Graphics, said, “We are happy with the response from the show, especially with the deals that we cracked on the first day.” By the end of the show, Ample sealed multiple deals for all the machines showcased at the event.
Bobst has hailed its presence at PrintPack a “great success” after closing deals for seven machines – one Novacut 106E 3.0 version die-cutter and six Bobst Novafold 110 A2 folder-gluers. According to Venugopal Menon, zone business director for the Indian subcontinent at Bobst, it was clear that “our customers felt they gained a unique perspective” on their business. “As one of our customers quoted at the show, it’s all about productivity, reliability and longevity of the asset. We have always thought that Bobst is an investment and not an expense.”
HP’s country manager, Indigo and Inkjet Business Solutions, A Appadurai, while talking to PrintWeek, said that everybody he had spoken to was coming to PrintPack, because in the last two-and-a-half years of our life, we were all confined to where we were. “This is the first major show that is happening in the country in the print business. So when a show like this happens, we would like to take the fullest advantage and show the technologies we have developed.” With a total space utilisation of 452-sqm at the show, HP was one of the biggest exhibitors.
And despite many obstructions in the execution of the project and postponement on two different occasions due to Covid-19 and lockdowns in the country, the Indian Printing Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPAMA), were able to book a total area of 60,340 sqm for this edition, which was more than the area sold out during the previous edition. “The overwhelming support received from the exhibitors has given us strength to take up even more challenging jobs in future. Thanks a lot to the industry colleagues, exhibitors, visitors, staff and the venue for the grand success of 15th PrintPack India,” said Rakesh Sodhi, president, IPAMA.
Held at the India Expo Centre, IPAMA reported that 1,03,412 visitors from 52 countries visited the show to see the latest technology-based machines and other related products showcased by 487 companies. Limited invitations were sent to the overseas market due to Covid-19 restrictions and perceptions of the countries. Sodhi said, “We also observed that the exhibitors finalised various business deals worth Rs 2,000-crore during the first four days. The business visitors and the exhibitors have taken the advantage of online fixation of meetings in consultation with each other.”
During the inauguration of the show, as has been customary, IPAMA felicitated five industrial stalwarts with Lifetime achievement awards. The persons who were conferred with the award are: Datta Deshpande of Pratham Technologies, SS Maan of Maan Machine Tools, Shanti Pal Ahuja of Multitec, KG Suresh of Autoprint Machinery, and Ramendra Singh of Sond Engineering.
